Manual pistols

Manual airsoft pistols (sometimes abbreviated as ASG) are the most basic form of airsoft pistols. You don't need batteries, a carbon dioxide cartridge, or a propellant cylinder to operate them. All you need is the strength in your palm and fingers. Manual airsoft guns are in fact operated or reloaded manually with a slide. Inside the gun, there is a spring that is depressed by the movement of the slide and when you pull the trigger, the spring is released, putting pressure on the airsoft pellet, which is then shot out of the barrel into space.

These versions of airsoft pistols need to be handled carefully and sensitively. The reloading motion of the slide should be neither too fast (rough) nor too slow even insufficient. Most of the internal mechanisms in manual airsoft pistols are made of plastic. Therefore, rough handling can irreversibly damage these guns. However, even handling with insufficient force can cause malfunctions, e.g. a pellet jamming in the internal mechanism due to insufficient slide tension. The service life of internal mechanisms cannot be equated with the length of the warranty period, as the service life depends on the correct and appropriate use of the manual airsoft gun.

In terms of performance, manual airsoft guns are about on par with electric airsoft guns. As a rule, they reach a power of up to 1.00 Joule. According to the power (projectile energy) also the proper airsoft pellets cal. 6 mm BB needs to be chosen in terms of weight. Their main advantage is the fact that you don't need any batteries, chargers, cartridges or propellant cylinders to operate them. On the other hand, shooting them is not that much fun since they can't shoot in semi-auto or full-auto mode. They shoot in the so called repeat mode (1 x hand reload = 1 x shot).

Some of the widespread manufacturers of manual airsoft pistols are Umarex, ASG and Vigor. Among manual airsoft pistols you can also find such gems as a replica of the Czech CZ 75 D Compact pistol, the Italian Beretta PX 4 pistol or the American STI 1911 pistol.
