The ideal protectors against rain and water during outdoor activities are ponchos and raincoats, but also impregnation sprays. Sleeveless waterproof ponchos are used in areas such as sports, hiking or as workwear. They are mostly made of synthetic material (e.g. plastic). Their advantage is that they can be folded, so they take up a minimum of space and are therefore popular when travelling in the countryside. Ponchos are usually equipped with a hood and buttons to fasten them. 

Impregnation is the saturation of absorbent materials with suitable natural or chemical substances in order to protect them from various types of external influences. Impregnation sprays protect against water, dirt, oil and odors by repelling them. They can be applied to various materials and surfaces such as clothing, shoes, leather, tents, tarpaulins, etc. Impregnation sprays reduce the risk of getting wet.
