DEFENSE-TRAINING MARKERS? FUN, DEFENCE AND PAINTBALL ALL IN ONE

What are the weapons called Defense-Training Markers? What can they do? What are they for? What category of weapons can they be classified under? Since they have been on the Slovak market for a relatively short time, few people know what these weapons are and what they are used for. If you want to learn about them, read on.

GENERALLY ON DEFENCE-TRAINING MARKERS

These are weapons that are powered by CO2, which is delivered by a cartridge. According to the Firearms Act, they can be classified as gas weapons (air rifles). In order to qualify for free sale from the age of 18, their projectile energy must be limited to 15 Joules. They do not have grooved barrels and certainly do not shoot pellets. They can fire three types of projectiles of the appropriate caliber. The first type of projectiles are polymer (plastic) pellets, which you can use to defend yourself if necessary, or you can shoot them at larger targets. Since the barrels of these guns are not grooved and the projectiles are quite large and heavy, they cannot be expected to shoot accurately at small targets from long distances. However, they will certainly suffice for e.g. casual shooting at beer cans from a distance of about 10 meters. Another type of projectiles are projectiles containing tear-forming pepper substance. The shattering of the projectile on impact causes the tear-forming substance to be released on the target, which also makes these weapons a handy and effective means of defense. The third type of projectile is projectile containing colored liquid, which shatter on impact and release this colored liquid onto the target. With Defense-Training Markers, you can also play a game called paintball. They are available in different calibers, e. g. .43 (10.92 mm), .50 (12.70 mm) and .68 (17.27 mm), and with different powers (from about 7.5 J to about 15 J). They are weapons that combine the options of effective defense, hobby shooting or a game called paintball.

TYPES OF SUCH WEAPONS

Like most other types of firearms, Defense-Training Markers can take the form of a pistol, revolver, rifle, submachine gun, or even a shotgun. A successful manufacturer of such weapons is the German company Umarex, which markets them under the brand name T4E. The pistols are represented by the stylish T4E Walther PPQ M2 model in cal. 43 with a projectile energy of up to 7.5 J and the larger T4E HDP 50 model in cal. .50 with a projectile energy of up to 7.5 J or up to 11 J. The revolver range is represented by the T4E HDR 50 model in cal. 50, also in a variant with a projectile energy of up to 7.5 J or up to 11 J. Probably the most interesting model is the short double-barreled shotgun model T4E HDS 68 in cal. .68 with an interesting design. It is available with a projectile energy of up to 7.5 J or up to 15 J. Umarex called this product group Defense-Training Markers, but other manufacturers use the term RAM (Real Action Markers). If you want to use them as defense markers, the QUICK-PIERCING feature will help you, thanks to which the CO2 cartridge is activated not immediately when it is inserted, but only with a light blow on the bottom of the grip, which makes the weapon quickly usable and the seals in it are not overly stressed.
