Rifles Thompson M1 A1 45 ACP
The Thompson M 1928 was probably the most famous representative of the entire model range. From the Thompson M 1921 it differs only in details, lower cadence (heavier breech) and forend instead of a front pistol grip. The Thompson M 1928 submachine gun was the first Thompson admitted to the army's armament, specifically to the service of the US Marine Corps. Larger numbers of Thompson submachine guns, however, started being produced at the beginning of World War II. when France, United Kingdom and Yugoslavia needed reliable automatic weapons. The Thompson M 1928 was, however, too complex, made up of a number of machined parts that were very difficult to manufacture and therefore expensive. The Thompson M 1928 submachine gun proved itself either as the armament of the Allied troops, or in the service of the American underworld. By reprocessing the Thompson M 1928 submachine gun, the easier Thompson M1 was manufactured. The changes to the original gun were carried out by the company Savage Arms. The Thompson M1 hal a common dynamic breech with a hammer firing mechanism, the breech did not have characteristic cooling fins and compensator. The Thompson M1 submachine gun lived to see a relatively large circulation. Later, it was replaced by a simpler Thompson M1A1 with a purely blowback breech and a fixed firing pin on the face of the breech. The Thompson M1A1 submachine was used until the 60's.
