Although, the construction is old more than 40 years, it is still recognized as a powerful and reliable weapon. In year of its introduction it was really groundbreaking and its quality in the opinion of some experts it overtakes the soviet AK-47, but also many contemporary western constructions. Among the members of the Czechoslovak Army (and not only among them) it has become a legendary weapon. Appreciated was mainly its high reliability, resistance to external influences and very good craftsmanship. According to many former members of the Czechoslovak Army the gun operated at any time, it was resistant to water, mud, sand and cold weather. A quality shooter reaches with it a precise hit by the single shot in 400m, while shooting for group goals are achieved very satisfactory results over a distance of 800m. The weapon is primarily designed to destroy live enemy forces by firing, with the bayonet and the gunstock. Moreover, it may also be used to destroy enemy unarmoured technology, low-flying helicopters and aircraft, or falling paradrops.
