RARE WEAPONS REPLICAS

The weapon replicas are very accurate but non-functional imitations of weapons from different time periods that have become famous for some reason. Some are famous because they had exceptional functional and firing capabilities or because they were used in a major military conflict. Non-functional means not being able to fire any type of ammunition. They serve mainly as collectibles for gun enthusiasts, decorations, and theatrical props. Most are indistinguishable at first glance from the original pattern. They are made of metal, so even their weight gives you the feeling that you are holding in your hands the real model. Read on to find out which of the replicas are representative of rare weapon models.

ASSAULT RIFLE STG 44

STG is an abbreviation of the German term Sturmgewehr, which translates as "assault rifle". It is generally considered to be the first ever assault rifle and not a submachine gun because it uses rifle, not pistol, ammunition. It was calibrated for the atypical 7.92 x 33 Kurz cartridge, which achieved muzzle velocities up to about 700 m/s. It had a standard magazine capacity of 30 rounds. Its design was also the inspiration for Kalashnikov in the production of the Soviet AK 47 assault rifle. The STG 44 assault rifle was introduced into the armament of the German Army in 1944. Since it was developed towards the end of the war, only up to 430,000 pieces managed to be produced, which is the main reason why the original of this rifle is now very rare. The price of a working original today, depending on the technical condition, ranges from about 4,000 to about 8,000 Euros. However, you will only pay a fraction of that price for a hearty replica of the STG 44 rifle.

SUBMACHINE GUN M3

The M3 is an American submachine gun that was introduced to the US Army in 1943, gradually replacing the outdated and complicated Thompson submachine guns that are also known from American mobster movies. It was calibrated to the typical American calibre 45 ACP (11.43 mm), which achieved muzzle velocities up to approx. 300 m/s. It came standard with a 30-round magazine. The M3 submachine gun was, however, distinguished in particular by its unusual, very simple design and construction. Its comical design and appearance earned it the nickname "grease gun". Between 1943 and 1945, about 630,000 pieces were produced. The price of a working original produced during the war ranges from about 3,000 to about 5,000 Euros, depending on the technical condition. However, a replica of an M3 submachine gun does not cost even 200 Euros.

PISTOL COLT M1911

The COLT M1911 (Model of 1911) is an American self-loading pistol that was introduced into the U.S. Army arsenal in 1911. In its early days, it was exceptional and timeless, especially in its design and construction, which inspired other designers and gun manufacturers. It was calibrated for the .45 ACP cartridge with muzzle velocity up to about 250 m/s. It was used by the US Army until 1985. The Model 1911 and its various variations and clones are still produced by several gun manufacturers around the world. The price of a working original made between 1911 and 1945 ranges from about 2,000 to 4,000 Euros, depending on the technical condition. If a particular piece is proven to have been owned by an important military dignitary, its price can be several times higher. However, for a replica of the COLT M1911 pistol you will pay only a few tens of Euros.
