My first airsoft gun

The aim of this article will be to advise teenagers who are interested in airsoft how to choose the right airsoft guns to start with. Thus, the article will not cover the cheapest and most basic models of airsoft guns, but neither will it cover the most expensive ones. So, we will be interested in the affordable "golden middle way". If you are going to become an airsoft player, the basic equipment for you will be a pistol and a submachine gun or assault rifle. So come and see what we recommend.

PISTOL

If you know at least a little bit about guns from movies and computer games, you should ask yourself which models of pistols do you like in terms of design. Nowadays the market offers airsoft replica pistols of almost all world brands. The most popular brands are clearly Austrian Glock, Italian Beretta, Czech CZ and American COLT. In order for an airsoft pistol to have a decent performance, we recommend focusing on versions that are powered by a 12 g CO2 cartridge. Such a cartridge can usually shoot about 50 pcs of pellets and its price is around 0.50 Euro. A big attraction for beginners is the Blow-Back function, which makes the slide move like on a real self-loading pistol when firing. However, if you don't have a dedicated budget for a pistol of at least about 100 Euros, you need to concentrate on versions without this feature for starters, which can be purchased in the price range of about 50 Euros. Pistols usually serve as backup weapons during the game, if you run out of pellets in your submachine gun or if the battery runs out in your submachine gun.

RECOMMENDED PISTOL MODELS

  • Airsoft Glock 17 Gen 4 AG CO2 Blow-Back - a replica of perhaps the most popular pistol in the world, which has a projectile energy of up to 1.3 J, a magazine with a capacity of 16 pcs of pellets, the Blow-Back function and a bottom mounting rail on which you can install e. g. a laser sight or a flashlight.
  • Airsoft Walther P99 DAO CO2 Blow-Back - a replica of the popular German pistol, which has a projectile energy up to 2.0 J, a magazine with a capacity of 15 pcs of pellets, the Blow-Back function and a bottom mounting rail, on which you can install e. g. a laser sight or a flashlight.
  • Airsoft STI DUTY ONE CO2 - a replica of the American STI DUTY ONE pistol, which has a projectile energy of up to 1.5 J, a magazine with a capacity of 16 pcs of pellets and a bottom mounting rail, on which you can install e. g. a laser sight or a flashlight. A more affordable version without the Blow-Back function.

SUBMACHINE GUN

The beginner's arsenal must not lack a submachine gun as a primary weapon. You can also take inspiration from your dream weapons from computer games and movies. Modern M4/AR-15 style submachine guns are currently popular among young shooters. We recommend battery-powered electric models that also have a full-auto firing mode.

RECOMMENDED MODELS OF SUBMACHINE GUNS

  • Airsoft Lancer Tactical LT-25 G2 SPR - electric airsoft submachine gun in M4 style, which has a projectile energy of up to 1.5 J, a magazine with a capacity of 300 pcs of pellets and multiple mounting rails on which you can install various tactical accessories.
  • Airsoft Heckler & Koch G36C IDZ AEG - submachine gun with Dual Power system, thanks to which it works both as an electric and manual model. If the battery runs out, you can keep shooting by mechanically reloading one bullet at a time. The projectile energy is up to 0.5 J.
  • Airsoft WELL 61 AEG - a replica of the legendary Czechoslovak SA VZ 61 submachine gun, which is characterized by its compact dimensions. This electric airsoft submachine gun will especially please those who want to play bad guys rather than terrorists or criminals. The projectile energy is up to 1.0 J.
