The COLT brand is manufactured by the American company Colt's Manufacturing Company LLC, whose history dates back to 1836. It deals with the development of various types of firearms. This brand is most famous for various variants of the COLT 1911 pistol and M4 self-loading rifles. Thanks to the popularity of this brand, there was a demand for e.g. airsoft and air replicas of weapons of this brand. Therefore, Colt's Manufacturing Company LLC has decided to grant licensing rights for the production of airsoft and air replicas of its models. Recently such licensed replicas are produced by e.g. Umarex (Germany) and ASG (Denmark).
