Bayonet rifle M16
M7 Bayonet is a bayonet that was used by the U.S. army for the M16 rifle, it can also be used for the M4A1 carbine. It was introduced in 1964 when the M16 entered service during the Vietnam War. M7 Bayonet and M8A1 case: M7 bayonet is based on the older M6 bayonet for the M14 rifle. The most notable differences between them are the hole diameter rings and locking mechanism. M7 bayonet has a trigger on the head, while the M6 bayonet has a spring-loaded lever. Both are about the same length, have the same black finish, and the same case M8A1. NSN for M7 bayonet is 1095-00-073-9238. M7 bayonet was partially replaced M9 bayonet in military service. Army, Navy, and Air Force still use M-7 bayonets and may do so in the coming years. M7 bayonet was manufactured in the United States, Canada, Germany, the Philippines, Singapore and South Korea.
