BEST AIRSOFT PISTOLS

In this article we will introduce quality and seriously processed airsoft guns of several brands, which are somehow exceptional and we will also tell you something about the basic division of airsoft guns and about the basic equipment of the airsoft gun holder.

BASIC DIVISION OF AIRSOFT PISTOLS

Airsoft guns are mostly used as backup weapons during airsoft games, e.g. if you run out of ammunition in your main weapon, which are usually airsoft submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns or sniper rifles. Airsoft guns are divided according to their principle of operation into manual, gas and electric.

Manual airsoft guns are the basic class and work by pulling the slide of the gun before each shot. Their design is relatively simple and therefore they are usually cheaper than gas or electric models. They are especially suitable for complete beginners with a low budget. They are often referred to by the abbreviation ASG (Airsoft Spring Gun). The projectile energy of such guns is mostly around 0.50 Joule.

Gas airsoft guns are powered by a cartridge or gas that is refilled from a cylinder (Green Gas). Thus, there is no need to manually cock them before each shot because they fire in semi-auto mode. They are suitable for more experienced airsoft players and their projectile energy is usually between 1 and 3 Joules.

Electric airsoft guns are battery-powered and shoot in semi-auto mode and some models in full-auto mode. Their advantage is that you don't need to carry cartridges or gas in a bottle. All you need is a charged battery and ideally one more for backup. The projectile energy of electric airsoft pistol models ranges from 0.50 to 1 Joule. They are referred to as AEP (Airsoft Electric Pistol) or AEG (Airsoft Electric Gun).

When choosing an airsoft gun, it is important to choose a quality brand, take into account the performance in relation to the purpose, note the magazine capacity, features such as Blow-Back and adjustable Hop-Up, the size and shape of the airsoft gun (so that it fits well in your hand) and the operating system (manual, gas, electric).

TOP MODELS OF AIRSOFT PISTOLS

In 2024, the Danish brand ASG came out with an official airsoft replica of the Czech CZ P-10C pistol. It is a gas model that is powered by a cartridge. It is seriously crafted; the slide is made of metal with Blow-Back function and the frame is made of polymer. The projectile energy is up to 1.05 Joule. There is also an adjustable Hop-Up function, a thread on the barrel for installing a silencer and a pre-fitted red dot sight. A military version is also available in the DT FDE color combination.

Just a few years ago, Glock finally licensed their brand to produce airsoft replicas of their pistols. The license was given to the German brand Umarex. Immediately, the airsoft replica of the Glock 17 pistol became a hit. The replica features the Glock brand markings and logos that the original Glock pistols are equipped with. The energy of the gun is supplied by a cartridge. The projectile energy is up to 2 Joules. The Blow-Back function is also a standard feature. However, other licensed airsoft replicas such as the Glock 19 Gen5 or Glock 19X are also good ones.

ACCESSORIES FOR PISTOLS

The basic accessories are quality pellets of the right weight for the gun's performance, a spare magazine and protective goggles or masks. The basic accessories for CO2 guns are certainly also cartridges in sufficient quantity, in the case of GAS guns also gas in a cylinder. For electric models, don't forget a spare battery. If you are going to do airsoft professionally, you will need equipment consisting of a uniform, vest, gloves, protectors, holsters and other accessories.

HOW TO ACHIEVE LONG LIFE OF AIRSOFT PISTOLS?

In general, before using an airsoft gun, it is necessary to properly familiarize yourself with the manual. Manual guns are the most risky in terms of incorrect operation, as there is a high risk of jamming the pellet or mechanically damaging a component if the slide is moved incorrectly (e.g. too slow, too fast, rough movement or multiple movements). You can occasionally apply a few drops of silicone oil to moving parts.

Electric airsoft pistol models require especially good battery care. In general, batteries do not like too low or high temperatures. Do not leave the battery unnecessarily plugged in the gun when not in use. Charge batteries only with appropriate chargers and under supervision. If your electric pistol is equipped with a full-auto firing mode, do not use this mode continuously; you may overheat and damage the electric motor.

In CO2 airsoft guns, seals and valves are the most risky. Never leave the cartridge in the gun, unless you are already planning to shoot, and are going to store it. Occasionally replace the standard cartridge with an oil-containing cartridge, which will lubricate the seals and valves, extending their life.
