Airsoft grenades and grenade launchers

Airsoft grenades and grenade launchers are a very fun matter, however, only if used during the airsoft events. You will not have much fun with them in the yard at home, since they are not suitable for target shooting. They are designed to hit a large number of opponents during the game, who stand close together as a group. After releasing the pressure in the grenade or grenade launcher, several tens of 6 mm BB bullets will be fired, which gives you a great chance to hit a large number of opponents at once. If you haven’t got such an equipment, yet, read on and find out what your options are.

GRENADES

Airsoft grenades are powered by so called Green-gas or CO2. They can have different capacities of balls. After releasing the fuse of the grenade, the pressure is released in a few seconds and the balls are fired into the space several tens of meters. The range of the balls fired depends on the grenade model, the weight of the balls and the quality of the gas by which the grenade is powered. The cheapest option for beginners is grenade Royal 838 with the capacity of 18 balls.  A much more durable and professional grenade is the grenade E-RAZ V2 with the capacity of up to 100 balls.

UNDER-BARREL GRENADE LAUNCHER

Under-barrel grenade launcher is attached to the lower mounting rail with a width of 22 mm on rifles or submachine guns. If your airsoft gun is equipped with such a mounting rail, the under-barrel grenade launcher can become its part, and it will be immediately available. The balls are fired through the so-called insert grenades (diameter 40 mm), which are filled similarly to classic airsoft grenades. After pulling the trigger on the under-barrel grenade launcher, the pressure is released and a pile of balls is fired from the barrel of the grenade launcher. A reliable under-barrel grenade launcher is for example  model Big Dragon XM203.

STANDALONE GRENADE LAUNCHER

 Such a grenade launcher is for example B&T (Brügger & Thomet) model GL-06  by the Danish company ASG (Action Sport Games). It is equipped by side, bottom and top rails with a width of 22 mm, that can be used for installing various tactical accessories. There is also a safety against unintentional discharge, fixed sights, a folding stock and a removable front tactical grip. Insert airsoft grenades with a diameter of 40 mm are inserted individually directly into the barrel. After pulling the trigger on the grenade launcher, the balls are fired out the grenade at a distance of several tens of meters, which depends on the weight of the balls and the quality of the Green-gas. The length of the weapon is 385/590 mm and the weight due to the metal construction is up to 2,200 g.
