AIR PISTOLS AND REVOLVERS
They differ from air rifles in several ways. First of all, air pistols and revolvers are significantly smaller in size, they don't come by default with a stock that you rest on your shoulder, they have a much shorter barrel, they're more compact, some of them fit in a belt holster, and of course, they're several times lighter. Because of their smaller size, their design doesn't provide as much projectile energy as the design of long air guns does. The projectile energy of short air guns is usually in the range of 3 to 10 Joules. As with air rifles, there are different principles of operation for pistols and revolvers. Some are mechanical (break barrel, spring-loaded), pump-action, or powered by CO2 cartridges. They are also made in different calibers and some shoot only steel balls or pellets, some combine the ability to fire both types of ammunition. Because of the lower projectile energy and short barrel, short air rifles are designed for shooting at shorter ranges (10 - 15 m
BREAK BARREL AND SPRING-LOADED GUNS
Break barrel air pistols operate on the same principle as break barrel air rifles. You snap the barrel, insert a pellet into the barrel, put the barrel back, release the safety and you are ready to shoot. Such short air rifles are standard single-shot. The principle of operation of the break barrel air rifles is a compressed spring or compressed piston (e.g. IGT technology), the release of which puts pressure on the pellet, which is then ejected out of the barrel. As a rule of thumb, the smaller the gun, the smaller the spring it can fit, and thus the gun has a lower projectile energy. A specific spring loaded air pistol that does not break the barrel is the LOV 2 model. This is because it is loaded by pushing the entire barrel into the body of the pistol. You subsequently load a pellet into the barrel and fire. “Bouncing” the barrel out of the body causes the pellet to fire by inertia. However, it is characterized by a very low projectile energy. Nevertheless, it is extremely popular because our forefathers used to play with it during socialism and it is produced until today.
PUMPING AIR PISTOLS
They are characterized by the fact that directly in the construction of the air pistol there is a built-in manual pump, which is usually hidden e.g. under the stock. The number of pumps also regulates the projectile energy of the shot. A very popular model in recent years in this category is the Turkish air pistol Zoraki model HP-01, which is produced in cal. 4.5 mm and 5.5 mm and in two different barrel lengths. Its design subtly resembles the design of the Desert Eagle pistol. We also have various accessories for this gun, such as a left-handed grip or an extended stock.
CO2 PISTOLS AND REVOLVERS
They are by far the largest representation in the air pistol and revolver department. Most of them are replicas of real models of pistols or revolvers of world brands such as Glock, Beretta, Walther, Ruger, Smith and Wesson and many others. Many models have magazines, so they are multi-shot. They are powered by CO2 cartridges. Some shoot only steel pellets and have a smooth barrel with no bore. They are designed for hobby shooting rather than target shooting. Some, however, shoot classic lead pellets and have a barrel with a bore ( grooved ), so they are considerably more accurate and target shooting is possible with them. It is not recommended to store CO2 air pistols or revolvers with a cartridge installed. Always empty the cartridge before putting the gun away. It is also a good idea to occasionally use a so-called maintenance cartridge, which contains drops of oil that lubricate the seals and mechanical parts of the gun. The most successful manufacturers in this category are the Danish brand ASG or the German brand Umarex.
ACCESSORIES
When choosing an air pistol or revolver, also keep in mind the accessories. Check out our wide range of pellets, cleaning kits, targets, shooting ranges, shot traps, cleaning and lubricating oils, aiming devices (lasers, red dot sights), spare magazines and other accessories of all kinds.
Krátke vzduchovky
Short air guns, such as pistols and revolvers, are an ideal choice for recreational shooters. Their compact size and easy handling make them suitable for shooting at shorter distances, typically between 5 to 10 metres. Their lower projectile energy, often in the range of 3 to 7.5 Joules, makes them safe and fun to shoot, while being reasonably priced. Short air rifles are available in a variety of designs, including break barrel models, spring models, CO₂ pistols and revolvers, and PCP models.
