Possible malfunctions of electric airsoft guns

Do you have an electric (AEG) airsoft gun at home? Has it stopped working or is it not working properly? Sometimes it may be just a minor malfunction and there is no need to immediately run to claim the goods or take them for after-sales service. There are simple steps you can take to fix some problems or at least rule out potential problems. Let's take a look at the possible solutions to the problems together.

THE ELECTRIC MOTOR WORKS, BUT THE PELLET IS NOT FIRED

First of all, check the barrel for clearance, i. e. the barrel is not blocked by a jammed pellet. If the barrel is jammed, carefully clear the barrel and remove the jammed pellets (tools for removing jammed pellets are often included in the package of electric airsoft guns). A pellet can jam in the barrel e. g. due to an incorrectly set Hop-Up function, dirty barrel, use of a very heavy pellet in relation to the power of the gun, or due to a weak battery that can no longer supply the motor with enough power to fire.

If the barrel is not clogged with a jammed pellet and you think the motor is already making a very faint sound, try recharging the battery, it may already be significantly discharged and therefore the pellet will not fire. Also be sure to check the magazine for proper seating in the gun. In the case of a Hi-Cap magazine (called a spinner), make sure the BBs are cocked using the bottom wheel from the secondary magazine into the main magazine. If the magazine is improperly or inadequately inserted, it may not feed the BBs properly.

THE ELECTRIC MOTOR DOES NOT WORK

If the electric motor makes no sound or a very faint sound, first of all try recharging the battery. If recharging the battery did not help and you have a spare battery available, try that as well. If the second battery didn't help either, try to see if the cable leading to the battery is not broken or disconnected somewhere. If the cables are fine, check to see if the power connector is not oxidized or corroded. If everything seems fine, try to see if the electrical fuse is not blown (check your gun's manual for its location). Be sure to also check the fact that you don't happen to have the trigger safety in the locked position, it's a trivial thing, but it can happen.

If you have checked all of the above possibilities, it will be advisable to return your airsoft gun for a warranty claim or take it in for servicing. Especially if the gun is under warranty, do not attempt to disassemble it, such action may be grounds for rejecting the claim and it may be characterized as unprofessional intervention.
