News on the crossbow market

As crossbows are freely available in the Slovak Republic from the age of 18 without the need of having a firearms license, they are an extremely popular as a leisure time activity. They are therefore very popular weapons, which is why smart gun dealers are constantly trying to bring new models and accessories to the Slovak market that are able to catch the attention. The crossbow should be handled very carefully and it should be remembered that it should only be shot at the shooting range. It should also be remembered that hunting with a crossbow is forbidden in the Slovak Republic. Which models of affordable crossbows are among the latest news?

JS-ARCHERY SCORPION

It is a compound pistol crossbow in the price range of up to 100 Euros. The draw weight is up to 50 lbs, thanks to which the fired bolt reaches speed of up to about 120 fps. The big advantage is the fact that it uses common 6.5'' bolts, which are also used in most other pistol crossbows. Spare bolts are therefore always available and cost effective. The Scorpion model is easily cocked using a direct drawing system. The body is made of durable plastic, the limbs are metal and the strings and cables are steel. It is equipped with an adjustable target sight, which can, however, be replaced with a red dot sight. The total length is 300 mm and the weight is 580 g.

JS-ARCHERY BEAST

It is a standard compound crossbow that is cocked by manually pulling the string. The draw weight is up to 80 lbs. This specific model uses 3'' long bolts with a special shape that can shoot at speed of up to 140 fps. An interesting fact, however, is that in addition to bolts, it can also shoot steel balls with a diameter of 8 mm. The construction of the Beast model and its limbs are metal, the strings, cams and cables are steel. The length is 755 mm and the weight is 2,300 g. Its price is just over 100 Euro.

STEAMBOW AR-6 STINGER II COMPACT

The Austrian brand Steambow is characterized by the production of specific and special crossbows and bows. The above-mentioned model stands out in particular because it is equipped with a magazine with a capacity of six bolts; it can develop a bolt speed of up to 200 fps and the limbs are made of durable fiberglass-laminate. The AR-6 STINGER II model can also be equipped with various tactical accessories such as a red dot sight, laser sight and tactical grip. It also has the advantage of cocking by means of a direct drawing system, which makes it compact in size. The total length is 556 mm and the weight is only 950 g.
