Deactivated machine gun DP-28, cal. 7,62 x 54 R
A deactivated version of the Russian machine gun DP-28 (Dektarjev). The packaging also includes a proof of deactivation. Even after the deactivation, the breech remained movable and it is possible to click the trigger idly
From history:
The DP was a light machine gun used by the military of the USSR from 1928. It used 7.62 x 54 R cartridges, just like the repeater Mosin-Nagant and machine gun Maxim-1910. The machine gun was designed specifically to be able to fire even in very dirty condition. The weakest element of the firearm is the bipod - it was easily breakable. The disc-shaped magazine for 47 rounds had its place at the top of the firearm, was relatively small, and although its capacity allowed shooting longer bursts, belt machine guns, however, were better. It was replaced only in 1950, and that by the RPD machine gun, also by the designer Dektarjev.
The deactivated firearm can be both disassembled and assembled.
