Warranty and airsoft guns

Thursday, 27 September 2018

airsoft-zbraneIn the offer of various sellers, you can find airsoft guns hiding behind the term "decoration" in order not to have to provide a proper two-year warranty for such guns, referring to "durability". So de facto they are selling you a functional airsoft gun, but de jure they are selling you a non-functional decoration. So how is it?

THE CONCEPT OF WARRANTY AND DURABILITY IN AIRSOFT GUNS

Sellers who do not provide a warranty for airsoft guns refer to the lifetime declared by the manufacturer, which is indicated by the number of shots fired. However, the afg.sk webshop has been selling airsoft guns for several years and we have never noticed that the manufacturer has indicated on the packaging of the airsoft gun or in its instructions the information about the lifetime expressed in number of shots.

The real reason why some dealers do not provide a proper two-year warranty is probably because they do not buy them directly from the manufacturers or official distributors but from unreliable wholesalers who cannot handle claims in a timely manner or usually reject them. The afg.sk webshop buys airsoft guns of the world's most famous brands (e. g. ASG, Umarex) either directly from manufacturers or official distributors and provides a proper two-year warranty on all airsoft guns and does not hide them behind the terms as "decoration" or "durability". While it is true that the lifetime of a gun can be shorter through natural wear and tear in the form of very frequent use than the two-year warranty itself. However, no supplier of airsoft guns of quality and reliable brands will dare to deny a claim on the grounds of "expiration of service life" unless the gun is literally destroyed by use and the number of shots fired will not even be verified.

WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON REASONS FOR REJECTING AIRSOFT GUN CLAIMS?

The most common reason is the use of poor-quality pellets bought somewhere in the markets or in a toy store. Such pellets often have an irregular shape or rough surface and cause jamming in the barrel. Quality pellets aren't really expensive, there's no need to skimp on them.

Another reason is the reuse of already fired pellets, which are deformed and can also cause jamming in the barrel.

The reason for rejecting claim is also disassembly of the weapon and in worse case also loss of some parts. If you feel that something is wrong with your airsoft gun, entrust it to the experts and do not disassemble it.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND ADVICE TO PREVENT MALFUNCTIONS AND INCONVENIENCES

Particularly in the case of manual airsoft guns, we do not recommend entrusting them to persons too young who do not yet have the strength to cock it. This lack of strength, in the form of repeated and unsuccessful attempts to cock the weapon, causes unnatural forces and pressure to be exerted on the parts, which can lead to the weakening of a part or, in the worst case, to its irreversible damage. If the young shooter is not yet capable of handling it, you should help him to do so, thus preventing damage to your airsoft gun.

In the case of guns powered by a CO2 cartridge, do not leave the gun unnecessarily pressurized for several days. Always insert the cartridge before firing and remove the cartridge from the gun when you have finished firing. Also, have a pause of at least 0.5 seconds between trigger pulls. This is because extremely rapid firing releases a very large amount of CO2 and the gasket begins to freeze, which can cause serious damage. Occasionally put oil-mixed cartridges in the gun, this will lubricate the important parts and treat the seals.

So, when buying an airsoft gun, always check with the dealer to make sure whether you are buying an airsoft gun with a proper warranty or a "decoration" with no warranty. Always follow the instruction manual and safety instructions.
