10 things not to do in army shop

Friday, 27 May 2016

After more than six years in the army shop, I sometimes tell myself that I've seen and experienced everything there is to see and do. Every time I think that, a customer comes along and surprises me with something new again.

In this article I will try to summarize for you 10 things not to do if you don't want to look like a total newbie in the army shop.

armyshop

  1. You're looking at the gun and playing with the safety - but when the employee asks you if you'd like to look inside, your answer is: "No". We really don't store 22mm rounds in there.
  2. Do not open boxes of ammunition that are unopened or sealed - Once you see ".30-06 Springfield" on the package, there will be no candy for sure.
  3. When you handle a gun, be careful how you handle it! - The moment you take a gun from the vertical to the horizontal position, every employee in the room will think you probably play too many video games.
  4. Situation at the military weapons counter - "Could I have a look at that black one, please?" As much as I appreciate the politeness of such an innocent question, I would need at least a little help, because...They're all black!
  5. The phrase used a thousand times - "I know you won't have it here, but..." And I'll cut you off right here, if you don't mind. If you know our product range before you even enter the store, you must have super powers. Why don't you go buy a winning lottery ticket or help save the world.
  6. Constantly putting the finger on the trigger - When I hand you a gun to look at, I first make sure it's not really loaded. You, knowing this fact, start playing with the trigger as well. I know it's not loaded; you know it's not loaded - BUT! Imagine that a person just walked into the store who doesn't know that. Simply put - fingers off the trigger!
  7. Trying to buy a gun from a customer who is trying to sell it to an army shop - Just like you don't try to buy a car in a car dealership from a person who is selling it to a dealership, don't do it here either. It's very tactless and rude to us as dealers. If the customer and the shop can't come to an agreement, feel free to approach the customer when they leave the shop.
  8. Bragging to others about how you've spent the last few hours shooting - Sorry, but if it's still visible that you got up from the Call of Duty screen a while ago, that doesn't really count as shooting. Yes, I've experienced that sort of thing too.
  9. Trying to buy a firearm even though you realize you can't - if you don't have a firearms license, you just can't buy a firearm. If you try anyway, it's completely pointless to get upset when you're turned down.
  10. Causing panic because the end of the world and the zombie apocalypse is coming - If you are preparing for some sort of Armageddon, that's fine, and Scout leaders would be thrilled with your preparedness, but don't try to scare others. Don't show them your huge stockpile of ammunition with which to defend yourself against zombies.  Don't even try to convince them that the city is about to be destroyed by a shark conquest.
