Acoustic-expansion gun Sten BMK 2 new; Sten is a Tommy gun from British manufacture.
It was designed in 1940 and used in armies during World War II and also in postwar time.
The constructers were Harold Turpin and Reginald Shepherd.
Name Sten is actually an abbreviation Shepherd, Turpin, and Enfield (town, where guns were made by Royal Small Arms Factory).
The British army was at the beginning of World War II almost without Tommy guns therefore in 1940 there was made a large order of American type Thompson.

Shepperd and Harold J.
Turpin developed a simple and cheap Tommy gun with a minimum of machined components, in their manufacture was used compression molding and postweld.
In 1941 it was added to the armament under the name Machine Carbine Sten Mk I.
Sten was designed with the smallest number of components.
The simplest version has 47 components.
The magazine, that had capacity of 32 rounds, was inserted into the side of the left side.
It used pistol ammunition 9mm Luger.
