Rifles vz. 24, cal. 8 x 57

The vz. 24 rifle is a Czechoslovak military rifle that was made in Czechoslovakia from 1924 to 1942. It was a Czechoslovak version of a rifle with the Mauser 98 system which was produced and used in different countries. In 1922 it was definitively decided that the army would use a Mauser system rifle. Its most appropriate adjustment (size, sights, bayonet mount, or the method of carrying by infantry and cavalry) was being looked for. After the transitional models 98/22, 23 and 23a, the 24 model was definite, and the vz. 24 remained as a main individual gun in the Czechoslovak army until 1939. The rifle had an excellent design and in the world it is considered the best military rifle of Mauser design.
